Check for Leaky Pipes and Ducts

You should keep an eye out for loose joints and small holes in ductwork that can cause leaks. Even a tiny leak can hugely affect the efficiency of your whole air conditioning unit. Small leaks can be sealed up with rubber or fabric tapes. However, if you notice a big leak this is a definite sign that you need to call out an air conditioning company.

A programmable thermostat can do wonders for your AC unit and your electricity bill. You can install these at any time but it is a good idea to do this before summer picks up and your AC unit is put to use more.
