If you’ve decided to invest in air conditioning, congratulations, you’re about to enjoy a more comfortable and energy-efficient home.
But, before your new system is installed, there are a few simple steps you can take to make the process as smooth as possible. Here’s our guide to preparing your home for AC installation, and what to expect on the day.
The installation team will need space to work both inside and outside your home. Make sure furniture, plants, or personal items are moved out of the way where the indoor unit will be mounted, and check that the outdoor space (such as a garden wall, balcony, or exterior wall) is clear of obstacles. This not only saves time but also helps ensure the job can be done safely and efficiently.
Installers may need to run pipework and cabling between the indoor and outdoor units. Having a clear path through hallways, staircases, or loft areas helps speed up the process and minimises disruption. If you live in an apartment, ensure communal access areas are unlocked and any building management requirements are met.
While AC installation isn’t excessively loud, drilling and the use of power tools are part of the process. If you work from home, you may want to plan for this, or arrange to be in another room while the team carries out the installation.
Our professional installers take care to minimise dust and mess during the process, using dust sheets and cleaning up once the job is complete. That said, it’s always a good idea to cover or move delicate items in the work area, just to be safe.
Once installation is complete, your AC installer will run through a series of checks to ensure your system is working perfectly. They’ll also show you how to use your new air conditioner, including the remote control, timer functions, and any smart features, so you feel confident from day one.
Preparing your home ahead of time helps ensure a quick, stress-free installation. At AC Installs, we handle every project with care and professionalism, so all that’s left for you to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy your perfectly cooled home.
