We were recently commissioned to design and install a commercial air conditioning system at the Teapigs warehouse facility in Hanwell, West London.

Teapigs required a cost-effective heating and cooling solution that would maintain the right temperature conditions throughout their warehouse, protecting the quality and integrity of their tea products whilst keeping the environment comfortable for staff working on site.

We installed multiple Daikin ceiling cassette units to cover the entire warehouse area, completing the full installation across just four days (Friday through to Monday) so that no disruption was caused to the day-to-day running of the business.

Why Temperature Control Matters For A Food & Beverage Warehouse

For a business like Teapigs, maintaining consistent temperature and humidity conditions within their storage and working environment is not simply a matter of comfort.

Premium tea products are sensitive to temperature fluctuations and excess moisture, both of which can affect quality, aroma and shelf life if left unchecked.

A properly specified and installed air conditioning system plays a genuinely important role in protecting the product from the moment it enters the warehouse through to the point it leaves for distribution. Getting the system specification right from the outset was therefore a key priority on this project.

The System: Daikin Sky Air Ceiling Cassettes

The system we installed uses Daikin Sky Air technology, with multiple ceiling cassette indoor units feeding from a bank of Daikin outdoor condenser units mounted along the external wall of the building.

As the images show, several large Daikin outdoor units have been fixed neatly to the wall at first floor level on a continuous bracket arrangement, with individual electrical isolator switches installed below each unit for safe isolation during servicing and maintenance.

Why Daikin?

Daikin are one of the world's leading air conditioning manufacturers, renowned for producing systems that combine outstanding energy efficiency with long-term reliability and low running costs.

We are proud to hold Daikin D1 Business Partner and C1 Certified Installer status, meaning we are fully trained and approved by the manufacturer to design, install and service their full commercial product range.

For a client like Teapigs, specifying Daikin equipment gives complete confidence that the system will perform consistently and that any future servicing or warranty work will be handled correctly.

Ceiling Cassette Units

Ceiling cassette units were the right choice for this warehouse environment, distributing conditioned air evenly in four directions across the full floor area from positions within the ceiling void.

This four-way distribution pattern is particularly effective in large, open-plan commercial spaces where consistent temperature coverage across every part of the room is essential.

The units operate quietly and remain largely out of sight, making them a practical and unobtrusive solution for a working warehouse environment.

Completed In Four Days With Zero Disruption

One of the most important requirements from Teapigs was that the installation caused no disruption to the ongoing operation of the warehouse.

We planned the work carefully and scheduled it across a long weekend (Friday through to Monday), allowing our team to complete the full installation of all outdoor units, indoor cassettes, pipework, electrical connections and commissioning within the four-day window.

By the time the working week resumed on Tuesday morning, the system was fully operational and the warehouse team were able to return to their normal routines without any interruption.

This kind of out-of-hours working and programme discipline is something we take seriously on every commercial project we carry out. We understand that downtime costs money for our clients, and we plan every installation accordingly.
